Bhagavad Gita - Chapter 14 - Verse 10

rajas tamash cabhibhuya sattvam bhavati bharata
rajah sattvam tamash caiva tamah sattvam rajas tatha

Translation: 

Goodness overpowers passion and ignorance, passion defeats goodness and ignorance, and ignorance overcomes goodness and passion. Thus the modes continually fight for supremacy.

Translation: 
Commentary: 
Material nature is compared to a womb and Shri Krishna says that He is the seed-giving father (aham bija-pradah pita).
