Bhagavad Gita - Chapter 13 - Verse 3

kshetra-kshetrajnayor jnanam yat taj jnanam matam mama
kshetrajnam capi mam viddhi sarva-kshetreshu bharata

Translation: 

You should know that I am the knower of all fields, O descendent of Bharata. I consider the knowledge of the field and its knower to be real knowledge.

Translation: 
Commentary: 
The basis of knowledge, namely the ability to differentiate between matter, consciousness and Super Consciousness will further be explained in this chapter. In the last few centuries western scientific understanding suggests that consciousness arises out of an inexplicable combination of material elements.
